Gedeon Maheux

Ged grew up in New England and received a BA in Graphic Design in 1992 and an MFA in Electronic Media from the RIT in Rochester, NY in 1994.

In 1996 he formed The Iconfactory, based in Greensboro, North Carolina, with his friends Corey Marion and Talos Tsui. For over 20 years the Iconfactory has been helping clients solve visual communication problems through effective icon and user interface design. Gedeon has designed and produced some of the most recognized icon suites and emoji in the world today including those in Windows XP, Vista, Oracle, Apple Computer, Twitter, Facebook and many others.

Gedeon is also an experienced art director, interface designer, and developer and has personally worked on over two dozen software applications ranging from the Mac and Windows platform to Android and iOS. He enjoys cooking and blogging, is a Hodgkin's cancer survivor and is a life-long Star Trek fan.
